Mammotome Advances Surgical Precision with 10mm Probes for the Neoprobe® Gamma Detection System

September 15, 2025

CINCINNATI, OHIO – September 15, 2025 – Mammotome is proud to unveil exciting enhancements to its trusted Neoprobe® Gamma Detection System (GDS). With over two decades of proven performance across five generations, the Neoprobe® GDS continues to set a standard in surgical precision.1,2

The latest update introduces two new 10mm probes – available in both straight and angled configurations – designed to support smaller incisions and enhance anatomical visibility during procedures.3,4 These probes are ideal for lymphatic mapping to locate and identify sentinel lymph nodes in patients with cancer.4 They are also compatible with STERRAD and STERIS sterilization systems, offering flexibility and convenience in the operating room.

“Surgeons trust Neoprobe for its dependability, accuracy, and simplicity,” said Jonathan Friend, Vice President, Commercial, North America. “The new 10mm probes are a direct response to clinician feedback – offering improved access, anatomical visibility and versatility without compromising the clinical performance the Neoprobe® GDS is known for.”

Recognized for eliminating calibration and preventative maintenance, the Neoprobe® GDS streamlines surgical workflows and enables clinicians to concentrate entirely on the patient and procedure. Its bluetooth-enabled probes deliver high sensitivity and precise localization of target tissue, making it a reliable tool case after case.1 The latest additions further reflect Mammotome’s dedication to advancing surgical care through innovations that enhance precision and efficiency in the Operating Room.

The Neoprobe® GDS 10mm probes are now available in the United States. Mammotome anticipates expanding access to the new probes in select global markets by early 2026.
